Tensions between Iran and Israel have been on the rise in recent weeks, especially after the assassination of a senior member of the Revolutionary Guards in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Iran directly blamed Israel for the event and warned that it would respond.

Tehran has denounced in recent years a series of assassinations of senior military and scientific officials by Israel, including the death in November 2020 in an armed attack by Mohsen Fajrizadeconsidered as the director of the country’s nuclear program.

In this context, the Israeli Defense Minister, Benjamin Gantzaffirmed on Sunday that the Government is preparing offensive options against Iran “in case they are necessary”, after the alert issued before possible attacks against Israeli citizens in Turkey.

Also, the Iranian authorities recently announced that they had begun inject gas into the new centrifuges installed in the framework of its nuclear program after a critical resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)after notifying the removal of 27 security cameras.

Iran has announced the withdrawal of its commitments on several of the points of the 2015 nuclear agreement after USA out of the pact unilaterally in 2018, although the Iranian authorities have defended that these steps can be reversed if the United States withdraws the sanctions and returns to the agreement.
