The 18-year-old from the Braunau district was traveling around 4 p.m. with her 22-year-old partner and a 19-year-old friend from the Ried district on the Gutenshamer Landstraße in the direction of Eberschwang. For reasons that are still unclear, the young woman suddenly lost control of her car in a slight left-hand bend, came onto the right shoulder of the road and slid down an embankment. The vehicle then overturned.
The 18-year-old was injured to an unspecified degree and taken to the Ried hospital. Her seriously injured partner had to be flown to the Wels Clinic after the first aid with the emergency helicopter. The 19-year-old friend of the two was freed from the car by the fire department and also taken to the Ried hospital due to his injuries.
