For reasons that are still unclear, fire broke out in a garage near an apartment building in Ennsdorf right on the border with Upper Austria on Sunday morning. A firefighter who was already on his way to the fire station noticed the heavy smoke and stopped immediately. He rang the doorbell and was able to wake up the people, some of whom were still asleep, and bring them to safety.
Due to the column of smoke, the operations manager decided to alert other fire brigades as soon as they arrived. When firefighters arrived, all residents were safe. The fire in the garage was extinguished within a few minutes by a rapid and targeted interior attack by the respiratory protection team. Six fire brigades from Lower and Upper Austria, the Red Cross and the police were deployed. According to initial information, no people or animals were harmed.
