That was a weekend that the people of Wels will remember for a long time. As in the best of folk festival times, visitors crowded into the city center at the city festival for the anniversary year “800 years of Wels”. City marketing is celebrating an unprecedented visitor record with 70,000 frequency measurements on Saturday and 40,000 on Friday, when a thunderstorm with heavy rain around 7 p.m. briefly interrupted the party mood.
A total of 40 hours of celebrations took place between KJ and the kennel. The restaurateurs and stand operators were happy about a huge rush of the revelers. Thrills were also catered for. Extrapolated every seven minutes, daring bungee jumpers fell from the Felbermayr crane.

The clubs, emergency organizations, schools and kindergartens with more than 500 participants contributed to the great success of the Wels town festival. The stages rocked, among others, the Hot Pants Road Club, Hoamspü, Rockstory and Johnny M. & the Toothbreakers.
The next major event in Wels will take place next weekend. At the MusikfestiWels, “Lemo” and “Die Seer” perform with free admission. And on July 9th, the district music festival takes place in Wels.
