The Rieder Sportgala has been a fixed part of the calendar of events for around 50 years now. The best athletes of the past year will be brought in front of the curtain this year on July 23, and the most successful athletes of the year will also be honored. This year the gala takes place in the course of the Rieder city festival on the main square. Three candidates are nominated in several categories.
This year, for the first time, it is also possible to vote online (www.ried.at). This year, Walter Krausmann received the sports prize of the city of Ried – an award for special merits in the field of sports. For decades he has been a volunteer at LAG Ried, LG Innviertel, ÖTB, HSV and the Rieder Ski Club. You can read a portrait of Walter Krausmann in the Innviertler Nachrichten next week.
In order to involve the public in the pre-selection, there is the possibility of online voting this year, which runs until July 8th. The link can be accessed via the homepage of the city office and city marketing.
The voting will be included proportionally in the final decision of the expert jury and thus a winner will be determined who will receive the sports prize of the city of Ried in the respective category. Here are the nominees for the Sports Prize 2021:
Sportsman of the year: Ferdinand Auer, runner of the LG Innviertel, Rudolf Loisel, shooter of the shooting section of HSV Ried, Wolfgang Weinberger from the Ried rifle club
Sportswoman of the Year: Sinja Kraus and Nadja Ramskogler, both tennis players at UTC Fischer Ried, and Sandra Warner from the Rieder shooting club
Young Athlete of the Year: Anna Sattlegger, tennis player UTC Fischer Ried, Elena Trinks, track and field athlete from LAG Genböck Haus Ried and Nico Wiesinger, SV Guntamatic Ried, football team player in the U19s
Coach/Official of the Year: Raffael Gruber, football coach of the Monobunt Gladiators Ried, Roman Lutz, sporting director of the Rieder volleyball team at the UVC Ried and Wolfgang Weinberger from the Rieder shooting club
Team of the Year: Monobunt Gladiators Ried (American football), women from UTC Fischer Ried (tennis) and the Rieder shooting club
