The new post partner changes to the right-hand side of the old post office

The post partner in the tourist office will close at the end of June, but after a break of only two months, a new post partner will go into operation in the old post office building: Aurelia Neudorfer from “Schmeck-Eck” will take over the task and open as a post partner on September 1st.

When the post office turned its back on the city center of Vöcklabruck three years ago, the then City Councilor for Economic Affairs Elisabeth Kölblinger (VP) pulled out all the stops to maintain postal and bank services in the city centre. A postal partner was then set up in the tourist office in the summer of 2019 – to the great delight of all those who wanted or had to do their postal business in their immediate vicinity and on foot.

In 2022, however, the problem arose again, as the postal partner in the tourist office closed its doors at the end of June. Kölblinger, now Deputy Mayor, activated her contacts from 2019, made countless phone calls, rattled through all the properties in question together with city manager Ulli Meinhart and two representatives of the post office and inspected business premises for their suitability.

In “Neudorfer’s Schmeck-Eck” Kölblinger finally found what he was looking for: the entrepreneur Aurelia Neudorfer agreed to be the postal partner for the people of Vöcklabruck in the future.

“A postal partner is urgently needed for the residents and entrepreneurs, as well as an important footfall for the city center. Luckily, the many hours and discussions have paid off. I am very happy that this important service will be retained in the center”, is Elisabeth Kolblinger relieved.

The post partner will again be in the old post office building at Graben 8, except that in future customers will use the right entrance instead of the left. The location now has to be converted into a postal partner including Bank 99 as part of extensive adaptation work, but from Thursday, September 1st, a postal partner will be available again in the city center. And that with a significant increase in service, because it will also be open at lunchtime and on Saturdays.

In addition, the “good soul” of the previous postal partner, Beate Scherndl, could be won as a “new, old” employee who is already very familiar with the subject. Elisabeth Kölblinger: “I would like to thank Aurelia Neudorfer for her willingness to take over the postal partner and Beate Scherndl for her loyalty as an employee.”
