The caller reported a lightning strike on Siriuskogl to the state warning center or that he could see a fire. The two responsible fire brigade units were immediately alerted.
After the Siriuskogl was accessible via a narrow road with smaller vehicles, the Bad Ischl main fire station arranged for a follow-up alarm to be sent to the Perneck and Ahorn-Kaltenbach fire stations in order to be able to get the appropriate equipment and personnel up as quickly as possible.
Drone flew over the area
Hannes Stibl, the head of operations, could not find any fire when he arrived at Siriuskogl – the locals call it Hundskogl. Even with the drone of the Bad Ischl main fire station, which is equipped with a thermal imaging camera, no fire was detected. So the mission ended after an hour and a half.
