After mudslides, a civil defense warning was issued in meetings at Lake Ossiach (district: Villach-Land). This was reported by Ö3 on Wednesday night. The Pöllinger Bach and the Treffner Bach have burst their banks. Several mudslides had gone off on municipal, state and federal roads. The population is therefore instructed to stay in the houses, go to the first floor and get to safety.
The mayor of the Treffen community, Klaus Glanznig, reported to ORF radio that several people were trapped and had to be rescued. Many places are inaccessible to emergency services. A crisis team was set up. The army was requested.
A little later, a civil defense warning was also issued in the municipality of Arriach. And in the Gurktal, floods and mudslides were also reported.
There are also effects on the transport network. Among other things, Millstätter Strasse (B98) is closed during meetings.
