After brawl at Linz Pride: first perpetrator caught

For three young people from the Steyr transgender community, the “Linz Pride” on Saturday evening came to an ugly end. Towards the end of the peaceful parade, they were beaten up by several perpetrators, after which the young men fled in the direction of Mozartstrasse and Hauptplatz.

There was no trace of them until Wednesday morning, but now the police were able to report an initial success and locate one of the attackers. It is a 17-year-old from Linz-Urfahr who came to Austria from Iran, as police spokesman Michael Babl confirmed when asked by OÖN.

The exact number of accomplices is not yet known to the police, but the investigation is ongoing. The motive for the crime is still unclear. the Police inspection Linz-Landhaus asks for information about the perpetrators and asks witnesses to call 059133/4586.
