Brigitte Stumpner, a passionate entrepreneur from Bad Ischl, was awarded the title of “Commercial Councillor”. As Managing Director of Salzkammergut Touristik GmbH, Stumpner has been a fixture in the Austrian tourism industry for almost 30 years. With her incoming travel agency, the entrepreneur broke new ground and developed complex travel packages that are individually tailored to the customer.
The enterprising entrepreneur received numerous awards for her creativity and innovative strength, such as the Austrian Export Prize (2003) or the Tourism Innovation Prize of the WKO and Upper Austria Tourism in the “Green Tourism” category for the “Snowshoe hiking from place to place” project (2011).
Your company has become an important partner for many hotel and transport companies as well as museums, securing jobs and ensuring regional added value. “In addition to her business, Ms. Stumpner always has an eye on the big picture, which she always expresses in her numerous functions and with her personal commitment,” says Robert Oberfrank, district office manager of the Gmunden Chamber of Commerce. Whether as chairwoman of the Young Business Bad Ischl, as chairwoman of the Bad Ischl tourism association or as a member of the divisional conference and the WKO specialist group or district office committee, the enterprising entrepreneur advocates for the interests of the economy.
But social concerns are also important to her. With her project “A tree for your booking”, which she launched in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Forests, Stumpner sets an example for climate-friendly travel. She has been President of the Lehar Festival in Bad Ischl since March of this year. The connection she embodies between culture, business and tourism makes her the ideal candidate for this honorable post.
