5.7 million euros plus in the Steyrer accounts

This shows a plus of 5.7 million euros in the financing budget, the total income was 155 million euros. “Municipal taxes and revenue shares are significantly higher than we thought,” explains Vogl, “corona aid is also included in the income.”

In contrast, a minus of 9.3 million euros was recorded in the profit budget. How does that fit together? “This budget includes the cleaning up of the landfill that has already been decided and will cost around 8.8 million euros,” explains Vogl, adding: “We have also set aside reserves of four million euros.” And they will also be necessary in the future, given the current rate of inflation. An example: the city of Steyr has to pay 800,000 euros more for gas this year than last year.

The final accounts will be discussed in the municipal council at the next meeting on July 7th.
