High-ranking Viennese policeman built an accident with a motorcycle: 2.59 per mille

According to a media report, he was drunk and had a blood alcohol content of 2.59. The Vienna police, who published the accident last Friday, confirmed on Monday that it was a high-ranking Viennese official. This is currently not in service. According to the police, the 63-year-old was driving in the second lane of Klosterneuburger Straße in Brigittenau in the direction of Handelskai early on Thursday evening – just before 7 p.m. – and is likely to have collided with the car of a 21-year-old when changing to the first lane. The motorcycle handlebar fell and broke his arm, as the “Krone” reported. He refused an alcohol test at the scene of the accident, and the blood alcohol level of 2.59 was determined in the hospital. The 21-year-old driver was not injured.

According to the report, the accident happened on the way home from a boat tour on the Danube. The Vienna police did not initially know whether the officer was on vacation or on duty that day. Another high-ranking police officer has meanwhile taken over the agenda of the official in question. Legal consequences would be examined, it said at the request of the APA. Only on Sunday did it become known that two former bodyguards of Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP), who had caused an accident after their service while drunk, were no longer on duty with the Eko Cobra special unit.
