“I would like to thank everyone who is already participating in my candidacy,” emphasized Van der Bellen. “It is a good sign that people support political processes from the start. That is very important for our liberal democracy.” Campaign manager Martin Radjaby-Rasset underlined the transparency of the financing even before the legal deadlines. It is hoped that the other participants in the election campaign will also be able to clarify the financing.
