ST. FLORIAN BRUCKNER DAYS
“Our vision was and is to enable the intensive experience of Anton Bruckner’s music, which is not easy for everyone to understand, and to promote young talent,” says Univ. Prof. Dr. Klaus Laczika, founder of the St. Florian Bruckner Days.
Our “sounding” project, which began as a private initiative in 1997 and is today, according to the London “The Bruckner Journal”, a highlight among Bruckner events worldwide, was awarded one of the two prizes in the art education category. “What is special about the St. Florian Bruckner Days is the connection between the location, the composer and the work,” emphasizes the doctor Klaus Laczika. They take place annually in the third week of August in the heart of Bruckner’s (1824 – 1896) spiritual home, the Augustinian monastery in St. Florian.
A place of stillness and space to be touched by the music of the brilliant composer, organist and music teacher Anton Bruckner. Matthias Giesen, Artistic Director: “We would like to encourage our visitors to actively engage with Anton Bruckner’s work and also build a bridge to modern music, for example with jazz versions. We achieve this discussion not only through top-class concerts, but also through symposia and lectures.”
