But how do artists deal with Justitia’s difficult balancing act of naming criminal misdeeds up to serious crimes and finding a “just” sanction for them? Together with the Linz Art University, the Linz Regional Court exhibited works of art in the courthouse in the spring that are dedicated to themes such as finding the truth, guilt and rehabilitation.
The book accompanying the exhibition entitled “De Jure” has now been published. It presents the works of eleven artists. Accompanying texts serve as guides in terms of content, with the artistic perspectives being penned by the artist Georg Wilbertz. The legal positions were contributed by Walter Eichinger, judge and vice-president of the regional court in Linz.
