13 years mayor: Innerschwand makes Alois Daxinger an honorary citizen

The retired mayor Alois Daxinger was awarded honorary citizenship. He is the second honorary citizen of the community after his predecessor Johann Draschwandtner.

Daxinger was a member of the municipal council for a total of 30 years, from 2008 to 2021 he was mayor. “More than 65 projects were implemented in Daxinger’s era, from the Kulmspitze observation tower to the crèche, from building land security models to many infrastructure projects,” noted Mayor Hans-Peter Pachler in the laudation for his predecessor. Daxinger has contributed a great deal to the positive development of Innerschwand and has earned the community’s highest award. In his words of thanks, the honoree recalled the many beautiful moments, but also the flood disasters of 2013 and the severe damage caused by the snow pressure in January 2020.

In addition to Daxinger, other former municipal officers were honored at the ceremony in the gym of the Loibichl elementary school. Christian Mayr and Josef Edtmayer, each 30 years on the municipal council, were awarded the gold badge of honour, Georg Speigner and Anton Stabauer the silver badge.
