A malfunction on an Angolan airline TAAG plane en route to Johannesburg forced 114 passengers to leave the coast at Lubango, Huila province, returning to the Angolan capital this Monday alone.
According to the TAAG statement, it was “an aircraft model (Boeing 737-700) whose flight plan – Luanda-Johannesburg-Luanda was not completed due to technical reasons found in the aircraft,” was not specified.
Information circulated on social media on Sunday reported an emergency landing at 2:50 p.m., indicating the dissatisfaction of passengers who demanded an explanation from company representatives and complained about the lack of conditions.
According to TAAG, due process was followed and “for reasons of safety and security, the aircraft landed at Lubango airport while remaining on the ground.
O Angolan newspaper 114 passengers were reported to have spent the night at a hotel in Lubango.
TAAG only mentions that it has developed a “transfer plan” for affected passengers to continue their journey on the new plane, which arrived in Luanda this Monday.
