With an unemployment rate of 2.4 percent, there is still full employment in the district of Gmunden. A year ago the figure was 3.2 percent. Employment is at a record high with 44,439 employees.
At the end of June 2022, 1,103 people (482 women and 621 men) were registered as unemployed. 532 people were in qualification measures. The development of long-term unemployment is also pleasing. There was a drop of 56.5 percent for those people for whom no employment could be found for twelve months. This corresponds to 117 fewer people than a year ago at the same time.
The situation for companies, on the other hand, remains challenging. You have problems finding suitable staff. 2509 jobs would be immediately available in the district.
110 refugees from Ukraine have already found employment. A further 156 people have registered with the AMS Gmunden as looking for work. “Here we provide targeted support with German courses and competence-oriented intensive advice in the Ukrainian language as well as the possibility of work trials,” says AMS branch manager Leopold Tremmel.
