Eleven Covid deaths were added within a day. There are 958 people in the hospital, 24 fewer than the day before, but 102 more than a week ago. 58 affected people are being looked after in intensive care units, plus two on Tuesday and eleven more on the previous week.
Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 4,487,675 confirmed cases in Austria. 4,354,923 people have had one or more infections, and 9,530 were considered virus-free again within the past 24 hours. Nationwide there were around 114,000 actively infected people on Wednesday. 90,869 PCR tests have been registered in the past 24 hours. At 13.8 percent, a relatively large number of them were positive; the current weekly average positive rate is already 9.8 percent.
1,694 vaccinations were carried out on Monday. Of these, 93 were first bites as well as 173 first and 1,428 third vaccinations. According to the data from the e-vaccination pass, a total of 6.8 million people in Austria have received at least one vaccination. 5.5 million people and thus 61.4 percent of the population currently have a valid vaccination.
