The sacrificial box in the Loretto chapel in Christkindl was once again attacked by thieves. After it had already been broken into four times in the past, it was recently even secured and anchored with a chain.
“This time, however, the perpetrators tore it out of its anchorage and stole it completely,” says Michael Schönberger, chairman of the parish council. The incident was discovered on Monday shortly after the chapel was unlocked at 7 a.m. “At 7:30 a.m., a resident of the vicarage heard suspicious noises,” says Schönberger. When an inspection was carried out immediately, the sacrificial box had already disappeared.
Due to the daily emptying, the loss of donations is manageable. However, the material damage incurred is still in the four-digit range.
Pertinent perceptions and information about the possible perpetrators are requested to the police or to the Christkindl parish office.
