Bolsonaro, who last week achieved a key social aid package in the Congresshas 31% intention to vote compared to 45% for Lula da Silva, according to a survey by the Quaest agency.
Behind Lula, from workers party (PT, left) and Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party (PL, right) appears with 6% Cyrus Gomesrepresentative of the Labor Democratic Party (PDT, centre-left).
Far behind for the elections in Brazil they are even with 2% Simone Tebbet of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB, conservative) and Andre Janones of the conservative Avante.
The Quaest survey, contracted by the Genial bank and completed on July 2, consulted 2,000 voters in person and has a margin of error of two points for more and less.
In another poll by the same agency, conducted in June, Lula added 46 points against 30 for Bolsonaro.
The elections will be held on October 2 and if no candidate obtains more than 50% of the valid votes plus one, there will be a runoff on October 30.
In that eventual second round, former president Lula da Silva would win with 53% compared to 34% for Bolsonaro, according to the same survey.
