A 17-year-old boy has been dubbed a “hero of the Mediterranean” after he saved a child’s life during a shipwreck off the coast of Libya. According to The keeperseveral people died trying to save the child.
“I was trying to save someone while he was crying, I was in despair,” said the young man.
After drowning, the four-month-old child was resuscitated, and in the end he survived. The MSF team also managed to rescue 71 migrants who were on the boat.
At the moment, 30 people are missing.
