The meteorologists cannot confirm at this point in time that there will be an extreme heat wave with well over 40 degrees in Austria. “Normally, weather forecasts for a period of the next three to five days have a high hit rate. This is due to constantly improving weather models, on which the ZAMG forecasts are also based.” The reason for the Facebook posting is the “rumour” of an approaching heat wave that has been “haunting around” on social media for a few days.
The ZAMG meteorologists are certain that the coming days will bring cooler and more unstable weather. The prognosis for Austria:
At the Sunday moist, cool air masses are transported to the eastern Alps. North of the main Alpine ridge and in the north and north-east, clouds predominate and rain showers are frequent, especially in the congested areas, otherwise it only rains intermittently. In the south and southeast, on the other hand, it is largely dry and also sunny for longer. The wind will blow moderate to brisk from the northwest. 10 to 16 degrees at daybreak, 17 to 25 degrees then maximum.
At the Monday there will be changeable weather with increased cloudiness and rain showers. In the south and especially in the west, dry and sometimes quite sunny weather can be expected. The wind blows moderately to briskly from north-west to north, only in the south it remains rather weak. At the Tuesday there will be more clouds in the north and east, but only isolated, rather unproductive rain showers. According to the ZAMG forecast, sunshine will prevail in the west and south. A moderate north wind is still blowing, especially in the east, otherwise the wind is weaker than the days before. The early temperatures continue to settle at eight to 14 degrees, the daily highs are likely to be between 21 and 27 degrees.
