Carabinieri at Quadraro station evacuated residents from two buildings on Fadda Street, after the flames spread to an awning on one of the balconies.
“It is a dramatic situation. The fire has not yet been limited and thanks to the wind it is also reaching the Via Papiria area. We invite citizens to keep their windows closed and wear masks even on the street, in the area affected by the dense cloud of smoke”, requested the president of the V municipality of Rome, Mauro Caliste.
Due to serious serious inconveniences related to the cloud of smoke from the fire, the section of the Togliatti road between the intersection with via Papiria and via Casilina is closed.
According to firefighters, the fire started around 4:50 p.m. local time on Via Casilina.
The flames would also have affected an abandoned area next to the Centocelle archaeological park.
