This is the result of a survey with 700 participants carried out by the Sora Institute for the environment department of the state of Upper Austria in June.
84 percent of those surveyed spoke out in favor of “active climate policy” and would like to see corresponding steps taken by state politicians. 68 percent of those surveyed would accept interventions in nature and changes in the landscape through hydroelectric power plants and wind turbines in exchange for independence in the energy supply. According to Provincial Councilor Stefan Kaineder (Greens), the result of the survey was “a clear commitment by Upper Austrians to a committed energy transition and climate protection measures”.
