Twitter is suing billionaire Elon Musk to force him into a deal to buy the social network. The lawsuit, filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, was filed after Musk said in a letter to a Twitter lawyer that he wants to end a $44 billion deal to acquire the company.
“Clearly, Musk believes that—unlike any other party subject to Delaware contract law—he can change his mind, destroy the company, disrupt its operations, destroy shareholder value, and leave,” the lawsuit says.
On Friday, the businessman said he was terminating the agreement because Twitter violated the agreement by not responding to requests for information about fake accounts or platform spam, which is critical to the efficiency of his business.
