The two fires that raged in the municipality of Ouren, in Espita and in Freixiande, have been extinguished since this morning, but more than 700 operatives are still mobilized, a civil protection source told Lusa.
According to a source from the National Office for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection, the fire in Freiscianda was extinguished at 03:21, and the fire in Espita at 01:32.
A fire warning was issued in Kumeira, Espita on Tuesday afternoon. More than 200 operational staff remain on site, assisted by more than 60 vehicles.
In Kumeada, Freiscianda, more than 500 operators remain on site with the support of nearly 170 vehicles to extinguish a fire that was alerted on Thursday afternoon.
Nearly 2,000 operatives are fighting dozens of fires across the Portuguese mainland, with Leiria being the area hardest hit by the fires.
