The House panel investigating the attack on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, 2021, has revealed new details of the “craziest meeting of the Trump presidency,” according to committee member Jamie Raskin.

The participants of the December 18 meeting were Donald Trump, Sidney Powell, campaign lawyer and promoter of conspiracy theories, Michael Flynn, former national security adviser and Patrick Byrne, former CEO of Overstock.com.
Powell, Flynn and Byrne went to the Oval Office without an appointment, which is why the attorneys for the White House of the unexpected visit.
According to the investigative committee, the advisors arrived at the office with a draft executive order for Trump to sign. The document should authorize the Secretary of Defense to seize the vote since Powell was named special counsel to investigate the November election, which Biden won.
Powell said the group was alone with the president for 10 to 15 minutes before White House adviser Pat Cipollone came running into the office.
“I didn’t understand how they got in,” Cipollone told the committee. “I didn’t like seeing the people that were in the Oval Office.”
Cipollone said he was “vehemently” opposed to Powell being named special counsel, and that seizing the vote was a “terrible idea.”
According to committee member Raskin, for more than six hours there was a “heated and foul confrontation” between Cipollone, other White House staffers and Trump’s outside advisers.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney, joined the movement, after pushing theories of voter fraud for weeks.

Chaos in the White House
“It was not a chance meeting,” said Derek Lyons, White House staff secretary. “There were people yelling at each other, insulting each other.”
Cassidy Hutchinson, an adviser to Mark Meadows, Trump’s chief of staff, was able to hear the scandal in the Oval Office and text another staffer saying the West Wing is “CHAOTIC.”
Cipollone, the top White House adviser, said outside advisers were “verbally attacking” me for not showing loyalty to Trump and investigating allegations of voter fraud.
Eric Herschmann, another White House lawyer who was there, said that Flynn at one point tried to demonstrate the alleged electoral irregularities with diagrams showing “internet connected Nest thermostats.”
“It got to a point where the screaming was completely out of place,” Herschmann said. “It was late at night. It had been a long day and what they were proposing seemed crazy to me.”
“The judges are corrupt”
That night, Herschmann noted that all of Trump’s legal challenges to the election results had been thrown out of court, to which Powell responded: “Well, the judges are corrupt”.
“Each one of them is corrupt? Even the ones we’ve named?Herschmann replied. It was then that Flynn accused him of being a “deserter.”
“So I yelled at him, ‘Either you come closer or you sit your fucking ass back down,'” Herschmann stated.
The meeting ended after midnight having “landed where we started,” according to Lyons, who said attendees “fought” for Trump to remain president.
Shortly after the meeting, Trump sent out a tweet urging his millions of supporters to attend a rally in Washington on Jan. 6, promising “it will be wild.”
