In Bad Deutsch-Altenburg we sweated at 36.1 degrees. With 35.9 degrees, Eisenstadt just made it into the top three of the highest temperatures in the country (closely followed by Wolkersdorf with 35.8 degrees), reported the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics.
In Vienna-Donaufeld, the measuring station shows 35.2 degrees. In Tyrol it was in Imst with 33.5 degrees, in Vorarlberg in Bludenz with 33.3 degrees the warmest. The Innviertel was Upper Austria’s heat pole: Braunau/Rannshofen made it to the top in the state with 33.2 degrees, Hartberg with 32.9 in Styria. The top heat value in Salzburg was reached in Salzburg-Freisaal with 32 degrees. In Carinthia the thermometer “only” climbed to 31.7 degrees (Ferlach).
Summer takes a short break
While the people of Linz were still sweating at a good 32 degrees on Thursday afternoon, it will be significantly cooler on Friday. During the night, clouds will gather from the north, bringing a few light rain showers in the second half of the night. A cold front will initially bring unstable weather on Friday. In the morning clouds will prevail and a few rain showers will pass. In the morning, however, it loosens up. At most in the mountains, clouds and a few showers will remain until the afternoon. The temperatures are between 22 and 27 degrees. The stable summer weather should also continue at the beginning of the week, forecast the meteorologists.
