In Bad Deutsch-Altenburg we sweated at 36.1 degrees. With 35.9 degrees, Eisenstadt just made it into the top three of the highest temperatures in the country (closely followed by Wolkersdorf with 35.8 degrees), reported the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics.

In Vienna-Donaufeld, the measuring station shows 35.2 degrees. In Tyrol it was in Imst with 33.5 degrees, in Vorarlberg in Bludenz with 33.3 degrees the warmest. The Innviertel was Upper Austria’s heat pole: Braunau/Rannshofen made it to the top in the state with 33.2 degrees, Hartberg with 32.9 in Styria. The top heat value in Salzburg was reached in Salzburg-Freisaal with 32 degrees. In Carinthia the thermometer “only” climbed to 31.7 degrees (Ferlach).

Summer takes a short break

While the people of Linz were still sweating at a good 32 degrees on Thursday afternoon, it will be significantly cooler on Friday. During the night, clouds will gather from the north, bringing a few light rain showers in the second half of the night. A cold front will initially bring unstable weather on Friday. In the morning clouds will prevail and a few rain showers will pass. In the morning, however, it loosens up. At most in the mountains, clouds and a few showers will remain until the afternoon. The north-west wind also blows there with peaks of around 40 km/h. The maximum values ​​​​reach 22 to 27 degrees.

Sunny weekend

According to ZAMG, the Upper Austrians can look forward to a weekend straight out of a picture book. Saturday is already mostly summery and friendly: there is no precipitation, and the sun often shines. The north-west wind will blow in the afternoon with gusts around 40 km/h in places. The mercury in the thermometer rises to 22-26 degrees. Sunday brings bright sunshine and stable conditions. Only a few high clouds pass through during the day. The temperatures are between 22 and 27 degrees. The stable summer weather should also continue at the beginning of the week, forecast the meteorologists.
