So far, 63,000 young people in the eighth grade have been individually advised by experts and psychologists on their talents, opportunities and future prospects. From the 2022/23 school year, free careers advice will be extended to the eleventh AHS school level. This was announced by State Councilor Markus Achleitner (ÖVP) and WKOÖ President Doris Hummer at a press conference on Thursday.
“Educational and career decisions must not be left to chance,” said Hummer. The free offer is now being extended to the eleventh grade, “because it is precisely here that graduates usually choose to study,” said Achleitner. However, that would only be one of several possibilities – the aim of the potential analysis is to counteract wrong decisions when choosing a future career.

Two graduates also attended the press conference. The 15-year-old Mason Bernhauser was able to find out his talents and strengths as part of a school campaign in a potential analysis and will start an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman in September. Gülizar Sude Altunay, who is also 15, decided after several coaching sessions and a discussion with a work psychologist for the MINT branch in a federal secondary school.
