14 refugees discovered in trucks at the Bavarian border

The people were from Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, police said on Friday. The men and women were between 17 and 46 years old and were in good health – although they apparently had to relieve themselves in bottles while driving.

The truck driver from Romania said during his interrogation that he initially had no idea about the people on the loading area. He only noticed noises and movements while driving. A preliminary investigation was initiated against him for smuggling under serious health hazards, but he was allowed to continue driving.

The refugees receive reports of unauthorized entry and are sent back to Austria. It was initially unclear how exactly the people got into the truck and via which further route they came to Germany via Austria. They didn’t have any ID with them.
