Almost 800 huts were tested throughout Austria – the decisive factors were the kitchen, ambience and service. If it’s up to the Falstaff, you’ll find the “best hut” in Upper Austria at the foot of the Kasberg. the Steyrerhüttelocated on an idyllic mountain pasture with a view of the Großer and Kleiner Priel, received 95 points.
They share second place Gmunden hut on the Traunstein, whose homemade bread was particularly appreciated by the Falstaff testers, and the Simonyhütte in the Dachstein mountains. Three huts can be happy about fourth place: Das Wiesberg house in Hallstatt, where you have the Dachstein summit right in front of you, as well as the das Rohrauerhaus at the Pyhrgassattel and the Sonnenalm in Gosau. The top five also includes the Ennser Hütte on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park in Großraming. It is also worth taking a look at the guides for the neighboring federal states. That’s how it became Pühringerhütte in the Dead Mountains (Grundlsee) voted the best hut in Styria. She scored 98 out of a possible 100 points. In the Styrian ranking also received the Ennstalerhütte in the Gesäuse National Park (Admont) a top rating: 95 points.
