Clear signage for the (large-scale) diversion via Emil-Futter-Straße and the Auberg is intended to prevent traffic chaos on the side streets as a result of the closure of the Hagenstraße between Urfahr and the Pöstlingberg, as happened last weekend. As reported, nothing worked in Berggasse and Spazgasse.
On Sunday, the responsible Deputy Mayor Martin Hajart (VP) commissioned the traffic planning that the construction company put the signs in such a way that the drivers use the detour route. “Berggasse and Spazgasse are not suitable as thoroughfares, one-way control is not possible there due to the narrowness of the streets,” Hajart told OÖN. He asked motorists who were going to the Linz Zoo, for example, to take a ten-minute detour.
As reported, Hagenstrasse between houses 14 and 26 will be completely closed for three weeks from July 22 due to the renovation of the canal. According to Hajart, everyone who is not a resident should use the large-scale diversions. These should be clearly signposted from Saturday.
