FREE TOWN. Things are looking up for the future city and wellness hotel at the Freistadt exhibition center. “We’re now on the sixth floor. By the end of the year we want to be at the top and complete the shell so that – God willing and Putin doesn’t give us any more nasty surprises – we can open in autumn 2023,” said builder Dietmar Hehenberger yesterday to the “Mühlviertler Nachrichten”.
Naming completed
In line with the progress of construction, the name of the future leading tourism company has now been fixed: Impulshotel Freigold. Hehenberger and his team deliberately took their time looking for a name: “With Impulshotel Freigold we have now found a name that perfectly suits the location and our intentions.”
This builds a bridge to the great history of the location: “Freistadt was something of an economically golden soil in the Mühlviertel at the time of the salt trade, but also later. We take up this approach with the hotel name and thus create a connection to history.”
The “gold” is not only reflected in the name of the ten-storey hotel, but also on its facade. The building will be given a special facade that gleams golden in the sunlight. “Here we rely on a latticework that breaks up the façade. A special aluminum composite material is used, which emits a noble anthracite tone when the sky is cloudy and shimmers gold in sunlight,” says Hehenberger.
But not only the building on the Stieranger in Freistadt is taking shape, Hehenberger is also not idle in putting together the future team of employees. “Right from the start, we want to have a competent, highly motivated team with around 80 employees. We already have the first 20,” says Hehenberger, who is satisfied with the build-up of the workforce.
Hehenberger and his co-investor Wolfgang Hochreiter grant numerous benefits: After a successful probationary period, apprentices receive their second-year salary right from the start. In addition to an attractive bonus system, skilled workers who have already been trained can look forward to a four-day week, air-conditioned workplaces, an employee academy, free meals, free use of the wellness area and well-equipped employee accommodation.
