After 17 years – the last city festival took place in August 2005, the festival planned for 2006 was canceled due to bad weather – next weekend the entire city center will be used as a stage for the first time in many years. “Fun, enjoyment and a good mood” should be in the foreground, according to the Rieder city marketing department, which is responsible for the implementation.
“It’s really great that everything is going so well so far, and that the city festival has been so well received everywhere,” said Susanna Hohensinn, a staff member in city marketing. According to the city marketing department, the city festival is met with open ears everywhere. All interest groups – from retail to gastronomy and clubs – can be found in the city festival. “And we’re already positively nervous,” says the city marketing employee.

The chairman of the Rieder Business Association, Rudolf Dobler-Strehle, is also happy about the spirit of optimism: “It’s perfect for the city and for trade when so much is happening in the city. We’re now starting again in all directions, and With the many activities, it is also about raising awareness of the town of Ried and the many shops and conveying a positive image of the town to the outside world. Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner is overwhelmed by the dynamic that the city festival has developed: “When I wanted a city festival in December 2021, I personally wasn’t aware of the scope it would take on in July 2022. At first there was an idea few booths – and now there is a mega event over three days.” He was “totally enthusiastic about the energy in the people who get involved in their free time,” says Zwielehner.
The mayor of Rieder says that promoting cooperation within the city was a success with the city festival. This is also the case with regard to urban development: “Politicians can only create the framework conditions, but each individual is required to make their contribution to the excellent further development of our city. If it ends like the city festival, then I’m really looking forward to seeing many of them projects in the future.
