Real Austropop again at last
You often hear that when talking about the duo Edmund from the Vienna Woods. But what exactly accounts for the success of Edmund? Roman Messner and Markus Kadensky write beautiful two-part dialect songs from the gut, combining the best of old Austropop with current songwriting and hitting the mark. In “Freindschoft” you sing about the most important constant in your life. The song “Zam oid wern” is a hymn to spending your life with a unique partner. Edmund’s songs are about failure, bouncing back, and relationships that aren’t always as easy as you’d like them to be. Edmund don’t mince words and often express things very directly and with precise language. That should also be exactly what their fans love about them, they speak from their soul. And to be honest, if you choose the name of Edmund “Mundl” Sackbauer as your band name, you can only really like that.
