Obertraun renovated two bridges for hikers

The Ebnersteg over the Traun, which has been partially renovated several times and which connects the Obertraun network of cycle and hiking trails with the idyllic Koppenwinkel and further through the Koppental to Bad Aussee, has been renovated. Only the supporting structures of the 55 meter long bridge could be preserved after a static test. The rest of the construction has been completely renewed.

The bridge along the railway path also received a new wooden covering. The bridge in the Seeviertel closes the network of paths from the town center to Lake Hallstatt, more precisely to the Obertraun lido and to the east bank cycle and hiking trail on Lake Hallstatt.

The work was carried out with the carpentry of the Brandl company by a local construction company. Obertraun invested a total of 64,000 euros in the renovations.

This sum was also financed with funds from the federal government, from the transport department of the state of Upper Austria, through special needs allocation funds from the municipal department of the state and from the Dachstein-Salzkammergut Tourist Association’s own funds.
