Cocaine trafficking: boss of Wels nightclub in custody

At the beginning of June, the handcuffs for the manager of a Wels nightclub and one of his employees (33) clicked: Investigators from the State Criminal Police Office of Upper Austria arrested the two Welsers in the city of Salzburg after they had bought 20 grams of cocaine from a 44-year-old there.

Overall, the two people from Wels are accused of having regularly made procurement trips to the city of Mozart in the period from mid-2021 to the arrest and having bought a total of 780 grams of the narcotic from the Salzburger. They are likely to have passed on about half of this to third parties.

A 62-year-old from Wels is also said to have participated in the procurement trips. The criminalists were also able to prove that the 44-year-old seller had dealt in doping substances. A 51-year-old bodybuilder from Salzburg may have given him buyers. In addition to the drugs, the police officers found cash, two handguns, prohibited weapons and a variety of doping substances on the suspects.

The three main suspects were taken to the Wels prison according to orders from the Wels public prosecutor’s office, with the 33-year-old being released from custody in the meantime. When they were interrogated, some of them confessed, the police said on Thursday.
