The young man wanted to overtake the car driving in front of him, steered by a 37-year-old from the Grieskirchen district, on Wednesday afternoon in the municipality of Pichl near Wels, but failed. Out of anger, both drivers gave each other disrespectful hand signals. The 28-year-old is said to have pulled out an ax and threatened the 37-year-old with it.
The unsettled woman reported the incident to the nearest police station. A radio search was launched, and a little later the young man was caught at his home address. In fact, the officers found an ax in the trunk of his car and secured it.
A provisional ban on weapons was issued against the Croatian. After consultation with the public prosecutor’s office, he was released.
