An abrupt lane change led to an accident at around 5:30 p.m. on the Innkreisautobahn in the Wels-Land district: near Krenglbach, the driver of a semi-trailer wanted to overtake a vehicle in the first lane and therefore switched to the second lane. A 43-year-old German may have noticed the maneuver too late and drove onto the trailer of the truck.
The force of the impact tore the front right rim of the tire, the German’s car was thrown into the grass verge. The family man managed to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway. It came to a standstill between the first and second lanes.
All five occupants of the car, including two children aged five months and three years who were unsecured, were injured in the accident. The rescue brought her to the Wels-Grieskirchen clinic, the police said on Thursday evening.
