One kilogram of crystal meth smuggled out of the Czech Republic

As a result of extensive international investigations by the LKA Upper Austria, a 65-year-old Austrian with multiple previous convictions was arrested in June this year with almost 200 grams of crystal meth (methamphetamine) coming from the Czech Republic in Austria. Due to the meticulous search of the detectives, the narcotic was discovered in a hiding place in the car.
The Austrian is accused of having imported up to 1 kg of crystal meth with a street value of around 100,000 euros from the Czech Republic to Austria from around August 2021 until the time of his arrest. In addition to his own consumption, the accused is likely to have sold the drugs to several people at a high profit. In addition to the smuggling trips with his car, which he carried out alone, the accused is said to have taken a couple with him who also brought crystal meth to Austria.
The accused is also accused of ordering a false Austrian driver’s license abroad, which he paid for with bitcoins worth €1,500.
The arrested person is currently still in custody in the Linz prison and is awaiting his trial.
