The President of Brazil’s Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) has given Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro five days to respond to attacks he launched against the electoral system and electronic voting machines at an event attended by more than 40 foreign ambassadors.
Edson Fachin’s order follows a lawsuit filed by various opposition forces, including the Democratic Labor Party (PDT) and the Labor Party (PT), which accuse Bolsonaro of various crimes, including election propaganda, abuse of power and crimes against the democratic state.
In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, the opposition asked Facebook and Instagram to remove videos from their platforms showing Bolsonaro attacking electronic voting machines without evidence.
