The fire was discovered around 11:20 a.m. by the 70-year-old owner of the house sawmill. He broke out in the basement where, according to the police, the chip silo and the diesel engine were located. He immediately called the fire department.
A total of seven fire brigades were deployed and were able to quickly bring the flames under control. They were able to prevent it from spreading to the other buildings and the adjacent forest.
Nobody was hurt. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, as is the extent of the damage, the police reported in the evening.
