Since Thursday, one of the most important street art festivals in Europe has been taking place in the state capital, the Linzer plaster spectacle. More than 100 artist groups from all over the world show comedy, acrobatics and dance, magic and fire shows and prove how diverse art is.

At the artist festival presented by the OÖN, numerous performances are planned on the streets and squares in the city center today, Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. “Linz is unique and there is an extraordinary flair that prevails in the city,” is what one hears from the artists who have applied for the cobblestone spectacle.
Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) also paid a visit to the artist groups in the city center yesterday, Friday. “The cobblestone spectacle is a cultural trademark of the city and has established itself in Europe for more than 30 years,” says culture officer and city councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer (VP).
If you want to watch the artists away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you have the opportunity to visit one of the eight new spectacle oases. There are many creative activities for children, make-up stations, and a bouncy castle has also been set up next to the Urfahr parish church.
A little cooling off awaits all those who come to the OÖ Nachrichten stand on the corner of Landstrasse and Spittelwiese. Here you can win a voucher for a scoop of ice cream.
