The man was on the Postalmstraße in the municipality of Strobl (Flachgau) when he left the road in a sharp left turn. The biker landed on the gravel surface with his vehicle, slid on and fell over a four meter high embankment to Weißenbach.
Rescue workers and a police patrol rescued the German from the creek bed, after first aid he was taken to the Salzburg accident hospital, the police said. A tractor lifted the motorcycle out of the creek bed.
A motorcyclist was also injured in the Mühlviertel on Sunday: The 70-year-old from the Freistadt district had to brake hard on the B119a on the journey from St. Georgen am Walde to Königswiesen to prevent a rear-end collision with a van driving in front of him. He lost control of his two-wheeler and ended up in a ditch. The rescue took him to the hospital in Freistadt, the police said.
