Temperatures like those on the Costa del Sol or at the Copa Cabana accompanied the final games at the “OÖ Beach Finals 2022 presented by Raiffeisen” in Perg on Sunday – the official state championships in beach volleyball. The numerous fans in the new beach arena at the Machland bathing world experienced top-class and, above all, exciting games. Above all, this applied to the women’s final, in which the number three seeded Sophie Haselsteiner and Julia Guger prevailed in a hard-fought game in three sets against the pairing Bauer/Atzmüller. They could be happy about their national champion title and 250 euros in prize money. Stängle/Rachinger secured the bronze medal. They kept the upper hand in the small final against the domestic pairing Surowka/König.
The men’s final was also not for the faint of heart. The series champions Dominik Kefer and Jakob Grasserbauer were challenged by the two underdogs Jonas Mürzl and Sebastian Hirschinger. In the end, however, the class and routine of the veterans Kefer/Grasserbauer prevailed and they won in two sets. “You’re getting older, we’re getting better,” said Hirschinger with a wink at the award ceremony, confident that he would soon be able to put an end to Kefer/Grasserbauer’s Gold subscription at the Beach Finals.
In the small final, three players from the organizing SG Prinz Brunnenbau Volleys were at the start: Daniel Eder and Felix Leitner clearly prevailed 2-0 against the Hinterholzer / Heinrich team and thus conquered the bronze medal.
The “Krampfteam” secured the hobby competition ahead of the “Schmetterlingen” and “Jung & Dumm”, while “4 Bier san ah a Schnitzl” secured the Seidl ranking. The award ceremony was carried out by Volleyball President Michaela Brixel from the board of the Upper Austrian Volleyball Association, the Mayor of Perg Anton Froschauer and sponsor representative Klaus Drabek (Raiffeisenbank Perg).
