For Eckerstorfer, the tour came full circle

A year later, the talented Paschinger made an impressive comeback at the 47th “No Worries” Junior Cycle Tour through Upper Austria. After an offensive driving style against strong international competition, Eckerstorfer took second place in the overall standings, just 21 seconds behind US winner Frank Aron Ragilo.

As in the previous year, the juniors were welcomed in Strass im Attergau with a great backdrop, the final with the mountain classification to Wald, which had to be passed three times, again separated the wheat from the chaff. Ragilo’s Cannibal teammate Artem Shmidt made off there, ultimately winning the stage ahead of fellow US rider Andrew August and taking the mountain jersey.

Eckerstorfer, who crossed the finish line with overall winner Ragilo, was also happy. He made the race difficult with his attack on the final climb. “I’m proud of the podium,” said the 18-year-old, who many believe will later make the leap into the World Tour. Ragilo found words of praise for the race: “This tour is really well organized.” (free)
