The Estonian Aron Frank Ragilo prevailed a few centimeters ahead of the Belgian Sente Sentjens and Viggo Moore from the USA.
Numerous breakaway attempts, all of which were ultimately unsuccessful, characterized the 101-kilometre second section of the tour in the country above the Enns. The best Austrian was Benjamin Eckerstorfer in eighth place. The athlete from Pasching, who starts for the national team, was always in the top group and tried everything to set himself apart from his opponents. “The race was extremely intense again, and I’ll try everything again on tomorrow’s difficult final stage,” said Eckerstorfer. With a winning average of 43.7 km/h, the speed of the young professionals on the circuit around the district capital was extremely fast.
Apart from the sporting achievements, tour director Helga Mitmasser was also impressed by the external conditions and the atmosphere along the route around Rohrbach-Berg: “We are currently experiencing really great cycling in Upper Austria, the atmosphere at the stage finish in Rohrbach was sensational.”
