Eye control opens up new communication channels for people who cannot express themselves verbally. Thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club Aisttal-Hagenberg, employees at the Unterweißenbach self-help workshop can now use eye tracking in everyday life.
So far, a rental device for non-verbal control has been in use in Unterweißenbach. It quickly became apparent what good progress people with disabilities can make in communicating and making their own decisions with this technical support. When Lebenshilfe asked the Rotary Club Aisttal-Hagenberg for financial support for the purchase of an eye control system, they agreed to cover the entire acquisition costs, including a mobile holder. “We were very surprised and moved by this generous donation of 7,530 euros,” says Angela Wirrer, head of the Unterweißenbach support workshop. Since other donors responded to the Lebenshilfe appeal, it was even possible to purchase a second urgently needed eye control system.
