At 4:05 a.m. this morning, the St. Geogen/Ybbsfelde and Krahof volunteer fire brigades were alerted to a traffic accident on the Westautobahn A1. Two cars had collided in the morning hours in the direction of Salzburg for an unknown reason.
“The investigation of the situation revealed that it was no longer necessary to save people,” says operations manager Martin Nahringbauer. In view of the pictures of the two wrecks involved in the accident, it was a blessing in disguise that there were no injuries.
After securing and installing the fire protection system, the rescue of both vehicles was prepared and carried out. In addition to the St.Georgen /Ybbsfelde and Krahof fire brigades, the Amstetten Red Cross and a team from ASFINAG were also deployed.
At 5:30 a.m., the two fire brigades were finally able to move back in.
